Chitrakadi Vati is a classical Ayurvedic formulation formulated to rekindle Agni (digestive fire), support healthy digestion and metabolism, and relieve digestive discomforts such as indigestion, flatulence, bloating, and loss of appetite.
Enriched with potent Deepana-Pachana herbs like Chitraka, Ajwain, Hing, Trikatu (Shunthi, Maricha, Pippali), Panchalavana (five salts), and alkalizing agents such as Sarjakshara and Yavakshara, this tablet works synergistically to stimulate digestion, detoxify the gut, and restore digestive strength.

Chitrakadi Vati is especially effective in Agnimandya (low digestive fire) and Ama-related conditions, where undigested toxins accumulate in the gut and hinder metabolism. Its hot and sharp potency is ideal for Kapha-Vata disorders of the GI tract.

• Panchalavana (Five salts: Saindhava, Samudra, Vida, Sauvarchala, Romaka) – Enhance Agni, improve mineral absorption

• Maricha (Piper nigrum) – Increases bioavailability, boosts digestion

CONTRAINDICATIONS & PRECAUTIONS:

• Avoid in gastritis, peptic ulcers, and high Pitta conditions due to its Ushna Veerya

AYURVEDIC COMMENTARY:

Chitrakadi Vati is widely recommended in Agnimandya, Ama, and Ajeerna cases, particularly when digestion is weak, and metabolic toxins are forming in the gut.
It combines Trikatu (Shunthi, Maricha, Pippali) and Chitraka for strong Agni deepana, while Ajwain and Hing act as excellent Vata-shamak and Anulomaka herbs.

The inclusion of Panchalavana improves salivation, digestive enzyme secretion, and gut peristalsis. Chavya and Chitraka help reduce intestinal heaviness and bloating, whereas alkalizing agents maintain gut pH and support acid-alkali harmony.
