AYURVEDIC DESCRIPTION:
Gokshura is classified as a Mutrala (diuretic), Balya (strengthening), and Vrishya (aphrodisiac) herb in Ayurveda. It balances Vata and Pitta doshas and is particularly beneficial for the Mutravaha Srotas (urinary system) and Shukra Dhatu (reproductive tissue). It is used to strengthen muscles, improve sexual health, and enhance stamina. The bioactive compounds, saponins (protodioscin), contribute to its adaptogenic and testosterone-enhancing effects.
CLIMATE & REGION:
Gokshura thrives in dry, warm climates and is commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions. It is widely cultivated in India (Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu), China, and Mediterranean regions. The plant prefers sandy and well-drained soils, flourishing in summer and monsoon seasons.
