AYURVEDIC DESCRIPTION:

Known as Mandukaparni in Ayurveda, Gotu Kola is a key herb in Medhya Rasayana (brain tonics). It strengthens Majja Dhatu (nervous tissue) and acts as a Sattvic herb, promoting mental tranquility and spiritual clarity. It balances the Vata and Pitta doshas, making it effective for anxiety, insomnia, and cognitive decline. It is also used in Twak Rogas (skin diseases) and Shotha (inflammation) due to its wound-healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

CLIMATE & REGION:

Gotu Kola thrives in tropical and subtropical regions with moist, marshy lands. It is commonly found in India (Kerala, Karnataka, West Bengal), Sri Lanka, China, and Indonesia. It prefers warm, humid conditions and is typically harvested during the rainy season.
