Gurmar SPL Tablets are a specialized Ayurvedic formulation containing standardized extract of Gymnema sylvestre—a classical herb hailed as "Madhunashini", or the “Sugar Destroyer.” Widely used in Ayurvedic practice for the management of Madhumeha (diabetes mellitus), Gurmar modulates carbohydrate metabolism, suppresses sweet taste receptors, and enhances insulin activity.
It supports weight regulation, lipid metabolism, and helps in detoxifying metabolic waste (Ama). This Kapha-Vata pacifying herb is ideal for managing Type 2 diabetes, sugar cravings, and obesity-related syndromes.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIONS & MECHANISMS:
- Anti-diabetic Action:
Gymnemic acids block sugar receptors on the tongue and reduce intestinal glucose absorption; stimulate insulin secretion and improve insulin sensitivity. - Beta-Cell Regeneration:
Promotes regeneration of pancreatic beta cells in experimental models. - Lipid Metabolism Modulation:
Reduces serum triglycerides, cholesterol, and free fatty acids. - Taste Modulation & Craving Control:
Temporarily suppresses sweet taste, assisting in dietary compliance. - Hepato-Renal Protection:
Antioxidant compounds protect liver and kidney tissues from glycation and oxidative stress. - Ama-Pachana & Lekhana:
Scrapes metabolic sludge and enhances Agni (digestive fire) in Kapha-dominant conditions.

AYURVEDIC DESCRIPTION:
Gurmar is classified under "Pramehahara" and "Lekhaniya" herbs in Ayurvedic texts for its ability to regulate Madhumeha (diabetes) and reduce excess Medas (fat tissue).
It is Tikta Rasa pradhana and Ushna Veerya, making it ideal for scraping out Ama from the microchannels (Srotas) and restoring metabolic function.
As a Doshashamaka, it helps align Kapha-related stagnation and Vata-based erratic digestion, thus promoting long-term vitality and glycemic stability.
