AYURVEDIC DESCRIPTION

Haritaki, known as the "King of Medicines," possesses five of the six tastes, excluding salty (Pancharasa -Kashaya predominance, Lava rahita) . It is light (Laghu), dry (Ruksha), and has a hot potency (Ushna Veerya), with a post-digestive effect (Vipaka) that is sweet (Madhura). Due to these properties, it effectively balances all three doshas while promoting digestion, acting as a mild laxative, enhancing memory, and supporting wound healing. Its ability to strengthen hair and delay graying makes it an excellent choice for hair care.

CLIMATE & REGION

Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) is predominantly found in tropical and subtropical climates, preferring deciduous forests and regions with moderate rainfall. It is widely distributed throughout India, from the foothills of the Himalayas in the north to Kerala in the south. It also grows naturally in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and parts of Southeast Asia. The tree flourishes in a wide range of soil types, including sandy, loamy, and clayey soils, and it is often found in dry, mixed forests. It is especially common in areas with an altitude range of 200 to 1,500 meters above sea level, indicating its adaptability to different elevations and temperature variations.
